About the Work:

This photo series titled: “Independence” created on July 4th, 2013, in California’s Sonoma Valley, commemorates an important American celebration.
I captured subtle sparks of light, resulting from explosions of fireworks, against a very dark sky. The feelings of happiness of people around inspired me, and I could not but follow the bursts of light, over and over again, until I ended up with numerous photos, so different from each other. Each shot had to be timed perfectly in order not to miss the magic.
With no filters or any photo editing, these images remind me of how mesmerizing light can be. While looking at them, I feel relaxed and calmer, because black to the eyes, is like silence to the ears.
